Korea Trip/The food spots

Real local Korean food Seoul restaurant Dongdaemun-gu Chicken Dishes

by futureseekerlee 2025. 2. 14.

It had been a while since I wanted to unwind, so I decided to visit one of my favorite spots selling real local Korean food. Why does this place put me at ease?

Well, the owner meticulously measures every ingredient while cooking, and watching that level of precision is oddly soothing. Maybe that’s why the flavors remain so consistent every time.

How to Get There & Opening Hours

This place is a local favorite, but don’t worry—it’s easy to find. Just take Exit 4 at Dapsimni Station and walk. If you love "dakgalbi", you’ll absolutely adore this place. Even if you’re not usually a fan, this might just change your mind.

It’s the perfect introduction to the dish, and once you try it here, other places just won’t measure up. This is why I recommend this real local Korean restaurant selling chicken dishes.

1. The Menu

Honestly, you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Everything here is a win. That’s why I won’t bother making recommendations—just pick anything, and you’ll be happy.

And let’s talk about the prices. Compared to other places, the value for money here is unbeatable. This is why I keep spreading the word about it as a must-visit spot near UOS. You can enjoy an amazing meal even on a budget.

2. Interior & Atmosphere

Here’s a glimpse of the interior. If the main dining area is full, there are floor-seating options as well. Every time I see that space, I think, "This would be a great place to come with friends."

As I get older, I realize how hard it is to gather everyone in one place, which makes me appreciate spots like this even more.

3. The Best Way to Enjoy It

My go-to order never fails: Joseon Dakgalbi (12,000 KRW), Cheese Fondue (5,000 KRW), and Udon Noodles (3,000 KRW). If you’re unsure what to get, just copy my order—you won’t regret it.

4. Side Dishes

Make sure to wrap some of that delicious dakgalbi in perilla leaves for a refreshing bite. Or just eat it as is—it’s fantastic either way. The bean sprout soup pairs beautifully with Maguly, making it the perfect companion for a night out.

4. The Main dakgalbi

And here it is—the star of the show! This place is easily one of the best dakgalbi spots in Jeonnong-dong. I have to admit, I’ve never been a huge fan of dakgalbi.

It often lacks value for money, and I rarely find it truly delicious. But this place? It’s different. I genuinely enjoy it here. I might not be a dakgalbi expert, but for me, this is the best I’ve ever had.

5. The Fried Rice

Since everything is cooked in the kitchen, all we have to do is wait a bit before digging in. No effort required—just pure enjoyment.

6. Final Thoughts

Dakgalbi is a dish real local Korean dishes absolutely love, and the spice level here is mild enough for everyone to enjoy. If you’re visiting Korea, I highly recommend trying this place out. If you’re unsure how to order, just show them a picture, and they’ll take care of the rest. 😊 Enjoy your meal, and have a great day!
